Bedroom Makeover 01

So, after four years of having the same, boring, neon-green and checkered bedroom, I decided it was time for a change.

The walls took two, thick coats of white interior paint before they were completely masked. The Sakura tree in the corner was painted with a black interior paint after being roughly penciled onto the wall by yours truly and touched-up by my awesome mother. The red sakura blossoms were done in "Christmas Red" acrylic paint.

And then came the accent wall. One whole, uninterrupted wall painted red with a stencil brush (about the size of your thumb) and interior paint to make it look textured; spread out over two days and painted by my mother and then the kanji was hand-drawn by me using photo references and stenciled onto the walls, then painted with black interior paint. Also, beside each symbol (on the finished wall) is it's English translation in gold.

Then, paper cranes were folded and hung in one corner, and the closet doors were painted by my mother as shoji doors to tie in the theme of my bedroom. Finally, the mirror was hung over the bookshelf and the photographs were hung in their proper places and the room is now FINISHED!

Approximately, it took a week, collectively, to finish.
